Two Wrongs Make Three Rays

Her family brought a smile to Kali's lips every day, but the struggles of raising the kids while working on Craig's meager Mime salary was rough on them all. She was proud of what they'd been able to accomplish, but it wasn't always enough. And although she'd been spending plenty of time with her two children, she continued to wonder if they were doing the right things.

Ignorant of the worries that plague her parents, little Veronica plays happily throughout the apartment. Her side of the room has been decked out to suit such a young and vibrant princess.

Little Jackson is a pleasant baby, content to lay in his crib, or under his dangly toy for hours. Kali hasn't quite recovered from the sickness she got carrying him, and is slow getting between rooms when she needs to.

Eventually, and happily, especially for Kali, Jackson's birthday comes quickly.

He becomes an adorable toddler with a headful of dark hair just like his daddy's.

But, it's later that week when Kali discovers the reason she never quite recovered from her pregnancy with Jackson. She's going through another one. It's a shock to her and Craig, who doesn't exactly jump with joy at the news.

Veronica, isn't particularly bothered by the news of a new brother or sister. She's often in her own little princess pink world. She's an accomplished dancer and artist already.

Little Jackson however is a terror as a toddler, making up for all that quiet time he spent as a baby by himself. He's often found wandering into the bathroom to play in the toilet, making a complete mess of the room.

Unfortunately, while she's not constantly sick with the new baby, Kali is often tired and doesn't make it around the apartment very well. She and Craig don't often get any time together with his work schedule, and Kali's sleep schedule. But, Craig has come around by the time their new little bundle makes it into the world.

Thankfully, little Jackson grows up just in time to help out around the house with his new little brother.

Once Kali is able to return to work, she and Craig decide that the small two bedroom apartment will no longer do for their growing family. The kids need their own rooms, and baby Joseph needs to be closer to Kali and Craig. Soon after they move into their very own house, Veronica has a birthday.

It's not an especially fantastic birthday, and the outfit picked for her will not work for this teenaged princess.

Veronica takes some of her new found teenaged freedom and sneaks out of the house to grab some new clothes, and run around town. She heads down to one of the local clubs after changing into her new clothes and shows off her smustle to the crowd (who doesn't seem to notice at all).

She's not a completely selfish teen though. Sometimes, she even takes time out of her busy days (and weekends) to spend time with her littlest brother, Joseph. She teaches him the fun nursery rhymes her parents haven't had time to share with him.

But she's not the only one. Jackson isn't far behind Veronica's decent on teen-hood. And when he gets there, he also sits down with his baby brother and reads aloud from some of his favorite books.

With both Veronica and Jackson as teens, and Kali and Craig feeling a little more financially secure. They decide to invite the local private school headmaster over for a nice dinner.

Things don't go very well. They start off well enough, but between dinner and the dirty looks the headmaster gives the kids small bedrooms, he gives the family and emphatic no. Craig, wanting better for his kids than he ever got, being overworked and tired, takes it very badly.

Little Joseph is the spitting image of his big brother, (Curse you first-born syndrome), and just as much of a troublemaker.

Jackson of course, has moved on to a different sort of trouble: girls.

It's not long before Joseph has his birthday to begin his own childhood. His dad and big brother gather into his room to cheer him on!

With all three of their children fairly able to take care of themselves, Craig and Kali get some time to themselves. Kali is finally able to return to work after spending so many years at home with her kids. She gets a job as a Jazzercise Instructor. Craig is still struggling as a Mime, and Jackson decides to help out a bit by getting a job as a Paintball Attendant. He's already got his heart set on a military career. Veronica is almost never home, and has the grades to prove it. She's got her sites set on boys, and romance. Kali and Craig both realize that there's a vast difference between their two oldest children.

There hasn't been a need to talk about it, but Kali and Craig made time to talk (among other things). Kali had told Craig all about her family many times before, but she felt the need to remind him that one of their three children might have to go out on their own. She wanted to make sure that everyone was prepared for that.
